The Marv Van Every Memorial Award was donated by the members of the Niagara Falls Hockey Alumni. Marv played his youth hockey in the organization in the 1970's and remained active in the organization until 1985 when he was tragically killed in a construction accident at the age of 35.
Each Coach nominates one player for this award. The award is not necessarily for the "star" of the team but for a child who comes to the rink every week with the desire to work hard, listen to the coaches, and be a good team mate and role model. Although only one of these coaches candidates will have their names engraved on the award, all the candidates are worthy of recognition by the league and this division.
